Ales Campanelli is a Swiss bass player known for his powerful attack and unconventional playing style. He first gained recognition in 2011 when he joined the industrial metal band Sybreed, recording their fourth album God is an Automaton. In 2014, he co-founded The Erkonauts, a genre-bending project blending metal, punk, and progressive influences. The band released three critically acclaimed albums and toured extensively.
In addition to his work with The Erkonauts, Ales has played with Obsydians and Lucifer Ascending, releasing several singles that further showcased his versatile approach to bass. Since 2021, he has been a member of the legendary Swiss band Samael, contributing to Passage Live and their upcoming, yet-to-be-announced studio album.
Beyond band work, Ales composed the original soundtrack for the indie video game D.I.G. (Deep in Galaxies) and regularly lends his skills as a session musician. With hundreds of shows across nearly 40 countries, he continues to leave a distinctive mark on the international metal and alternative scenes.
